　　11. rule of thumb 原则上 / 经验法则

　　“rule of thumb”才不是什么奇怪的规定呢，它指的就是经验法则，或是“原则上”的意思。

　　例句：

　　12. cut to the chase 切入重点 / 直接了当

　　chase (v.) / (n.) 是“追逐”的意思，cut to the chase 则是在说赶快切入重点。

　　13. hit the sack 睡觉去
